Oh those HMOs. Mine refused me oxygen, so I bought it myself with great hope. Found out it doesn't work for me. Can't find a preventive that doesn't put me in a naseous fog, so that leaves abortives. My dear HMO allows 9 Amerges, and 6 zomigs per month, and I'm chronic. Every morning about 3:00 AM Bam, it hits.
I don't wish anyone bad luck, but If those HMO execs would have just one CH with about a Kip 8, the whole thing would change. Bye, time for one of my precious triptans.

Isn't dealing with insurance companies fun!
I had the same problem with mine about Zomig (6 per month). Found that they would cover more with prior approval. I called them, found out what their process was for requesting this prior approval and their appeal process. It took a few phone calls but it worked. Once the insurance company agreed I then had to get them to call my pharmacy to tell them (the pharmacy) how to enter it in their computer so it would be accepted. I'm allowed 30 per month of the 5 mg dosage. Found that 2.5 mg dosage works just as well so just cut each one in half with a large, heavy knife. Taken at the very first hint of trouble it works for me. Hope this helps.
