My Cluster's have just started on 9/2/02. They are just getting to the unbearable part, i.e. 4-6 a day, and all potent. I can't take imitrex cause my father had an M.I. at 38 . (I'm 37). Has anyone tried anything (except Oxygen) that seemed to limit the amount of attacks.

I'm seeing my Doctor next tuesday. But that hasn't helped with my previous attacks Shocked.

Thanks for any help!!!

Hi Marshall,

I'm so sorry your cycle has returned!  The only other thing that's not a prescription med that I can recommend, is Dramamine.  You can get it over the counter, at Walmart or service stations.  It is originally for motion sickness, but also helps to prevent the REM stages of sleep, where the beast gets you.  That combined with O2 and tons of coffee, helped me during my last cycle.

Good Luck!

you should still be on a preventative med, no? like verapamil, depakote, topomax... with verapamil in the past i'll have 1-2 attacks a day, better than 5-6 with anything else i've tried. and i've tried a lot of combinations of drugs! good luck
