Is this harmful to digest or just bad tasting? What is the big deal about it? Is it green and fuzzy and easy to identify?

Karla, ??? I'm confused. Are you talking about the mold that initially forms on your cakes when using the PF or Myco-tek? Because that should be pure white, not green. I'd email Pinky. R

| Some molds contain dangerous chemicals. Even if its on the opposite side of the cake/casing, the shrooms can pick up bad things from it. The white mycelium is a network of roots basically. The shrooms can pick up contaminants from the other side of the cake. Mold will also completely take over the cake/casing and destroy it before you can get fruit from it or destroy it before future flushes can grow. At the first site of mold, you can *try* to save it by spraying with peroxide. Seldom works but worth a try. It should also be removed from the area where the rest of the cakes are, if you have more than one so it doesn't infect the others with the mold spores. Hope this helps. BobW
