Migraine Drug Sandomigran DS (Pizotifen) Lot Recalled In Canada MONTREAL, QC -- April 2, 2001 -- Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc. announced a nationwide voluntary recall of Sandomigran DS (pizotifen - double strength) 1 mg tablets, a medication used for the prevention of migraine headaches. The product is being recalled due to foreign tablets found in some bottles of Sandomigran DS tablets. Novartis wishes to advise consumers that consumption of these foreign tablets could lead to significant hypotensive reactions (drop in blood pressure) in certain predisposed patients. Although this risk is very remote, Novartis wishes to recall Sandomigran DS tablets, 1 mg, Lot C0L01371, dispensed between January 23, 2001 and March 30, 2001. Patients who had their prescription of Sandomigran DS tablets filled between January 23, 2001 and March 30, 2001 are asked to return their supplies to their local pharmacy for replacement. Please note that this recall is specific to Sandomigran DS and does not affect Sandomigran. Patients who require further information regarding this recall should contact their local pharmacist or Novartis Customer Relations at 1-800-465-2244. SOURCE: Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc. Have somebody of you tried this medication for cluster? Some Sweedes tell me that it work well? Svenn

I too was prescribed Sanomigran some time ago, sorry but had no effect with me either. I believe it is a preventative that helps with Migraine, but requires long term use to be effective. Peter ( uk )
