Yo, fellow sufferers- The Dr. just put me on Corgard for precursors to my apparently-imminent #3 cycle. The jury's still out, will advise. Have heard of a new drug called Zonagram and something called Cafagot. Anybody got any experience? My pharmacist only just heard of Zonagram, none in stock. Would just LOVE to avoid anymore KIP-10's, spoilsport that I am. Talk to me! Gtarman out-

It's actually Cafergot. It's an old, old vaso constrictor, and I love it! It works better on my clusters than the new triptans. Trouble is, it is a non-specific constrictor. It closes down the blood vessels throughout the entire body. If you take too much, the circulation shuts down in your fingers and toes and they turn black and fall off. But then again, what's a finger or toe here or there compared to a cluster. It comes from the ergot fungus which grows on Rye grain plants. It's also the stuff LSD is made from. Some people think the people tried as Witches in olden times, were actually suffering from ergotism from eating ergot fungus in thier rye bread. Anyway, the stuff works and it's cheap. Only problem is over treating with it.

Bob P is right about the Cafergot and over use. Also about the witches theory. There was a programme on TV over here some while ago that looked into the theory of witches and ergo fungus, it was very very interesting. Good luck Peter

Thanx, guys. It's great to get the advice of folks that have experience with these meds, rather than the 30-second "I don't have time to explain you wouldnt understand it anyway" attitude of some Dr's. Bob_p, it's all I can do to coax some music outta my axe with 10 fingers, I wanna keep 'em all... Dr. says I need to stay on the Corgard a week or so to see if it'll break the cycle - guess I'll find out when - if - the hammer comes down...

Oh, yeah, so the witches were trippin', eh? Guess I'm lucky not to have been burned at the stake back in the 60's, huh?
