It sure has worked for me.

I'll quote myself here from a post from a few weeks ago (sorry, everyone).

"I recently used 6 expired injections (1/2 dose at a time per the imimtrex tip), and they worked just as good as my new stuff. And get this - they expired in 1998, had ridden in the cargo hold on a dozen or so plane round trips, and sat in a hot car trunk more than once."

I tend to stock up on the injections during non CH periods so that I have enough when they start again in a year or so. I often use expired inj, and they work fine. I think if you have kept them out of the sun and stored them well they are fine. Mine also clock up airmiles! I go NOWHERE without packing them.

I am having some success with Prednisone at the moment. I took a 5 day taper down course 10 days ago and CH came back when I got to 2 pills a day and had a lousy 4 days before starting a new 2 week course of 6 pills a day for 5 days then 4 pills for 5 days, then 2 a day fro 4 days. Pain free since 12 hours after starting the pills.

I now firmly believe that CH is caused by inflamation in the brain, either from something seasonal (pollen?/climate?) or even some sort of recurring virus.

I intend to take a course of Prednisone at start of next episode and see if it save me money on the expensive inj.

I agree w/ Jmorgan - I also stock up on my injections during my non-cycle times.  It's the only thing that gets me thru the cycle and the stress of not having enough meds just makes everything worse.  I keep injections in all glove boxes in the car, my office, at home and everywhere I go - just in case.  I use the oldest injections first when my cycle starts.......my pharmacist told me that it was safe to use them 6 months after the expiration date posted - that they are still good.  I have used them after their expiration much longer than the 6 month period.....

Good luck to you Countrygirl....
