Greetings friends romans and ch countrymen/women. So, i have TRIED imitrix injections in the past. The little white thing with the tiny needle in the middle that you are supposed to stick yourself with. Am i hearing that there are more effective ways to use imitrix? Please share your knowledge.

Hi Kim, For some people, the Imitrex nasal spray can help. I tried it once and it didn't work for me, but I know at least one person for whom it worked. I got a sample from my GP, maybe yours has one as well to try Marijke

I use the nasal spray up to 8 times a day and it is pain free and easy to carry.

I use the 20 mg Nasal Spray and 480 mg Verapamil. I only use 2 doses of the spray daily as my doctor has said increasing the dosage could cause heart attack and they run in my family. The nasal spray takes about 10-15 mins to kick in if I take it as soon as I start a cycle. If there is even a 10 min delay it can take 30 mins to work. Just carry gum around after you use the spray as the sulfur taste can linger for awhile.

Hey Kim... I first used Imitrex about 5 years ago in the injection form...it was packaged differently...I can't really remeber how but I know that it was a lot harder to use than it is today...they use a kit with a injector pen thing...really easy and mess free...until you start with the little tip...then it is kinda nasty but oh so much cheaper...I'm not sure if this will help..probably already tried the kit but thought I would share just in case you haven't used it since it was in the old package...blah, blah, blah.. I have found the imitex nasal works well if I take it at the onset of the headache, as soon as I am awakened with a slight headache and my nose seems to dilate before going stuffy, I pop it in my nose, walk to the kitchen down a glass of water and MOST of the time can go back to bed..But if I assume it's only going to be a level 4-5 headache and pass on the nose spray, I'm in for a 10 headache. I really think the trick is to spray EARLY but not to early. so far it has only let me down one time and that was at a full blown banger, pacer, dripper, slipper..(LOL) then it did nothing, even my oxygen at 12 Ltr didnt touch the devil Saturday AM..I react quick now and sniff quickly....Good luck tonight everyone or day in some cases

The Nasal spray is a god send ! I mostly take 100mg Imitrex pill at the first sign of an attack. For the pill time to relief is about 30 mins, but taken with coffee (one huge strong mug) can be as short as 20 min. I take the nasal spray when I've been woken by the HA and the pills the rest of the time. NOTE: the pills are significantly cheaper then the spray and the spray is cheaper then the injection (in israel at least).
