I finally got some Amerge, and guess what? The pain was gone in about half an hour, and I slept for a good 4 hours! Trouble is, you can get only 9 pills per month. So, what do you do the other 21 days? I have bumps on my head and dents on my walls.

Rubberize the walls? ok, not funny when you're hurting.... you could appeal your insurance company's decision about the limit on the medication - there has been some success doing that. best of luck, and pf wishes to you (and all!) Liz

You might want to consider trying the other triptans like zomig, maxalt, and I think there is a new one out that I can't remember the name to. Anyway, I find at times when imitrix won't work zomig will. So maybe you can take zomig for a week, Amerge for a week, does oxygen help? have you tried migranol? Maybe you could use them the other weeks. Just ideas. Good luck.

The truth is that your insurance co. doesn't dictate your dosage, your doctor decides that. Albeit expensive, you can get about all you want. I have charged over $12,000.00 in the last five years and most likely wouldn't be here otherwise. Take care of yourself even when others wont, you have too.

Barbee, Now your scaring me! What happened with the Imitrex...do you take injections? When I first tried Imitrex (about 5 years ago) it didn't work but has worked for the last two and the thought of it stopping really scares me... Jon Good luck with the new medication...
