Topamax and eye problems

Just curious if anyone else on Topamax has problems with their eyes/vision?  And yes I have read the reports!!!

I tapered up to theraputic dose of 200mg starting in Jan 08.  Obviously my eyes were bothering then due to being in cycle but now they continue to be a big problem (even though cycle seems to be just about over, if not over)  I saw my eye doctor once 2 months ago, and got the all clear but things seem worse.   I cannot seem to focus which means no reading and most of the time I feel like my eyes are slightly dialated to the point that light bothers me and I still prefer sunglasses all the time just like when I was in active cycle.

I am returning to eye doctor but SIGH.......rather sick of doctors
saying everything is fine, meanwhile I live in sunglasses and cannot read, etc.... Sad
Anyone else experiece this?  Thanks, Mary Ann

Hmmm. I've been taking 50 mgs a day (for neuralgia, not CH) and have noticed a problem focusing lately. I thought it was just my old eyes, but reading has become a problem for me. And my eyes are extraordinarily dry, too.

I'll be watching this with interest.

/ Oh, I've been photophobic for years, so my shades and I are already a team.

Just getting back to a doc here, and back tapering up on Topa up to 50 so far.  I'm also a friend with dark sunglasses (photophobic).  My vision isn't the best anymore, esp at night.  Curious about what this thread will bring up.

I noticed painof my eyes... But maybe because I was really busy @ school lately (had to read a lot) and also spent a lot of time in front of computer...

Also (few times in the morning, when I didn't sleep enough) something like 'view moving/waving', especially when looking at light.

It's been a long time since I used it, but not at your levels before discontinuing.  Here's a few links with people complaining about the same thing:

Shocked Those eyes of yours match mine right now!  You really found some information for me!   I think I now know why my darn eyes are killing me and I cannot focus and the light is killing me.  Thanks John! Smiley
