Clustermasx Info

Hello, friends. I have been PF for over a year. Still, the first shadow appeared last night. I had never purchased a Clustermasx and was about to buy one during last episode, and then the episode subsided. I never got around to buying one. I have logged into clustermasx.com, but there is nothing there but a little info and an email address. I have emailed that address on two separate occasions, but the email bounces. I would really like to purchase one of these non rebreathing masks. Does anyone know the status of the clustermasx or if there is another product that I should consider. Thanks for any info! Steve

Hi Steve. Unfortunately, the clustermasx is not available at this time. One of our members has done the research that makes us able to build our own, though. Look here: http://www.mushys.com/O2/mymask.html pf wishes, nani

Thank you very much, nani. I was doing a little research on alternative non rebreathing masks and came upon this site: http://www.headachemasters.com/product.asp?product=3&sub=0&page= 1 It looks similar to the link that you sent me, but it doesn't have a humidifier. I could probably add one. Still, I suspect that I'd be better off just following the instructions on your link and building my own. Thanks again for the info. Steve

Steve, I checked that link and honestly I wouldn't spend $55 for it! You can build your own cheaper using the link nani gave you. But of course, the other place makes it more convienient. Just had to add my opinion, lol. Take care, mel

I checked out both links. Is the only problem with the "ready made" one the price? Any reason to think it wouldn't be effective? I can't figure out all the parts on the other one and I don't mind paying more as long as I get something that works.

It looks fine. The great thing about the clustermask is the flexible material on the mask itself which creates a good seal on your face, preventing O2 from escaping and air from coming in. The ready made mask looks like it should work. But I'm with the girls on this one, you can make your own much cheaper.

I'm not opposed to saving money. I just want something that works! When I look at the links that show a bunch of medical supplies, I get totally confused. I doubt I'd be able to order the right parts let alone put it all together.

I think this is still on topic, does anyone know a vendor that sells an oxygen mouthpiece like the one in this image? Thanks Mark

These are difficult to find in the US, M has tried to locate them but has not yet been successful. You might keep an eye on ebay they have been known to show up there. Can you breath pure o2 with these without plugging your nose? Superdave

I ordered the parts from sea-long as per the link, and I ordered the mask from the other company. I called a nice lady at sea-long, and she said that her company would be offering all of the parts as a package in the near future. She also said that they weren't currently carrying the face masks but would be carrying them in the near future so that the complete package could be sold as a unit. She talked as if it would be in a couple of months. I asked her to email or call me when this was available. If I hear from her, I will update this thread with the information. The parts were really easy to order, but the shopping cart had a bug and tended to empty itself occasionally. Still, the phone call to the company solved my problems. I should be receiving the parts in a few days. Thanks again Nani and Melissa for your help! Steve

The shopping cart issue... Add the Parts: PN174, PN175, PN1031, PN1037 (your choice of size latex, etc.), PN1027 (if you want the humidifier). Then, right click on the add to cart button for PN151. Select copy shortcut, paste into address bar and change http://www.sea-long.com/cgi-bin/sc/...blah, blah blah to http://www.sea-long.com/shopsite/sc/order.cgi?storeid=*1ce81cfa90cf4a7ba 04b57ca65dc4247&dbname=products&itemnum=17&function=add Hit enter key. Now you'll have to navigate the site back to the products page and select view cart from one of the "shopcart" items. Or, do step one and then right click on the shopsite link above|open in new window. That should take to your fully populated shopping cart. The CGI link is just creating multiple carts. Having typed all that, I'll let them know what the problem is. They may have it fixed soon.

| Yes! I much prefer the mouth piece to the mask. - It's not as claustrophobic feeling
- Can be held in your teeth freeing both hands
- Gives me something to bite down on
- Doesn't conflict with my glasses like the mask does
- Takes up less space in my "bag of tricks"
Not breathing through my nose took a little practice but is very easy to do. -Dennis-

| I'm one of the fortunate few who got a clustermasx while they were still available. The mouth piece came with the kit. The one Batch linked to looks like it'll do. Thanks Batch! -Dennis-
