Why exactly does Rockstar or Redbull work? Whatdoes the taurine do? and how many can you drink in one day before your body clock is totally screwed up? Embarassed

It's my understanding that the caffeine and taurine work together in concert to constrict blood vessels. The caffeine is the constrictor, and the taurine more or less enhances the effect of the caffeine.

How about Taurine in pill form with magnesium? A lot cheaper and you don't have to drink that stuff when you feel it coming on? Just take it with your vitamins in the morning......any thoughts? Cool

Thanks Nani - I think I'll go to Whole Foods and pick up some Taurine for my hubby.......1000 mg., or 1 grm.....I think it would work as well if taken in the morning and remain in the body all day......

I hadn't heard of anyone taking the taurine as a preventative. (Although I have been on the magnesium supplement for many years and swear it's had a very positive effect for me).

Please let us know how it works for him, and good luck! Smiley

bought taurine pills 500 mg. last nite. He took one pill with a melatonin and slept through the nite - could be coincidence because he had a bad sleep the night before - he took another 500 mg. this morning and he still feels great.......let's keep our fingers crossed - he may take another after lunch - this way he won't need a red bull or rockstar that has all those other things in it - everybody pray please.....he feels so good

Well, I guess he's an every other nighter because last night with a taurine 500 mg. and melatonin 3 mg. he still woke up at 1:00 a.m. with a kip 8 - downed a rockstar and wrapped his head in ice - 40 minutes later it was gone but he couldn't go back to sleep I guess because of the caffeine in the drink - I was asleep because I took a sleeping pill!

I did not know that - does the taurine build up in the system? I'm new at this - and impatient when you see someone you love in pain

Keep on your path Mybelle, it may take a little time to see what works best. In what form does the taurine and melatonin come? Capsule or tablet, sometimes a small change in the dosage can make a big difference

both are in capsule form - which I assume makes them get into the bloodstream faster......Maybe 2 taurine before bed? that would be 2,000 mg. and 1 melatonin? I am fried . I just got some Ativan for myself so I can sleep at night.  Embarassed

Why don't you up the melatonin? I know several here have good results at 9mg. to 12mg.

I like the taurine in the morning with coffee becuase I usually get hit first thing in the am.

This really seems to help. Also, I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but you should not be doing taurine caps and redbull combined.

I've been taking 6mg of melatonin at bedtime for about 3 weeks now, along with 25mg of benadryl. I am convinced that this combination has completely eliminated my nighttime hits.

Now I just need to go to bed earlier. I'm still a little tired during the day, but it's probably because I'm only getting 6 hours of sleep.

I have tried amp rockstar redbull sobe arush bawls bawls cherry bawls root beer and full throttle

some with taurine and some without and even sugar free

the new bawls cans are 16oz the bottles are 10oz

For Me the taurine had no effect only the bawls + kudzu in different combinations usually drink the bawls fast then take a couple of (natures way) kudzu pills right after...

everything they gave me at the hospitals did not help nothing seemed to work until kudzu and bawls
