O2 Tank vs Machine

Does an Oxygen Machine work for CH or do you need an O2 tank due to the high flow rate needed. Any advice for smokers with O2 in the house other than don't blow yourself up? keep in bedroom? shake your clothes out before smoking? Wait X minutes before lighting up? What if I don't want to wait X minutes? etc. Thanks in Advance

Machine is not adequate due to the high flow rates needed and the need for 100% O2. Don't smoke in the same room as the O2. Breathe normally with air for a few breaths before lighting up in another room, or outside. Ray

Pretty much what Ray said! The concentrators just can't produce the 02 as fast as we need it. Oxygen isn't really flammable, it's an accelerant. Meaning if you do catch anything else on fire, that's saturated with oxygen, it'll burn REALLY REALLY fast!! Smoking while using oxygen is INCREDIBLY risky, asking for a major disater. A short walk outside before lighting up would certainly be adviseable. Guiseppi

Just to add in my 2 cents here. O2 Concentrators only guarantee 85% pure O2. Not 100% O2. They can achieve higher but the alarms on the generator don't go off till they fall below 85% purity. -Dennis-

Sorry Jonny, gotta feed the Troll one little table scrap... My neuro wrote the script for a generator. Of course, it didn't work. I took it back to exchange with tanks and they said I'd need a new script to do that. But, if I just wanted tanks, here's 3 E tanks (included in the price). So I'm keeping the generator around for when I'm out of cycle. It's enough for a hangover, etc. Now, I just need to find a clustermasx. I've seen an aircraft fire while serviceing LOX, I don't smoke while O2 is being used.
