Hello, Did anybody mention that trigger of CH maybe stress or nerves? My Temperament is Choleric, the negative side of it I can be easily angered or bad tempered. (I work on it) I've heard that mostly Choleric have CH (probably it is a result but not the cause). Anyway it's interesting what is your temperament? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Temperaments) Regards, Vitaliy S

Negative emotional states (fustration, anger) will trigger my CH but not stress per se. My CH is triggered when the stress begins to dissapate

It's been pretty consistently reported here that the relief of stress acts as a trigger for quite a few people. Less consistently, that stress itself can trigger attacks in others. In my own experience, I've never been able to pinpoint any relationship to stress or the lack of it. They just happen at clockwork intervals, no matter what my state of mind happens to be. Obviously, this is anecdotal, so take it for what it's worth. Best wishes, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

The most recent discovery is that Cluster arises from our brain--from the hypothalamus. Select the button on the left of this page, "headache links", then look for, "cluster news", and read the materials on the three items listed. They will give you the most current thinking on causation.

If the stress disturbs my sleep routines, then I consider a contributor. But even when I have little stress in my life, I have gone into cycle.

Hi Vitaliy, I have always believed that stress is a factor in my cluster cycles. Mental as well as physical stress from head colds or flu. Sometimes as mentioned by others, mine arrives after the stress. After my wedding, after almost loosing my job, after extensive travel overseas with odd sleep schedules. I was surprised that I didn't start a cycle while traveling overseas and loosing a lot of sleep. I did get a cycle for the first time in years a couple of months later though. It's an odd thing that we haven't found a definate cause (besides "it's the hypothalamus". Best of luck to you, Rich
