I got started on the combo yesterday. I haven't had a CH since- knocking on wood. Was getting 2-4 a day. I don't know why I waited this long, other than the fact that it makes me feel like crap, but lets weigh that out. Feel like crap in this hand+++++++++++and Kip 9 in this hand. LOL, I'll take feel like crap everytime! Now, I am going to go stand guard at the refrigerator. I got some banana pudding in there! Patrick_A

Do you think that when they asked George Washington for his ID, that he just whipped out a One Dollar Bill?

Do you have oxygen yet? When the prednisone taper stops...I assume you are only on pred a short period of time while the verapamil kicks in....you will probably still have tho occasional break thrus. Oxygen will almost always knock those out for me. Congrats on the break, it's an awesome feeling isn't it?? Guiseppi

thats awesome.I started the same combo the 18th I haven't had 1 either. The doc set me up with Pred 3 a day 1 week,2 a day 1 week,! 1 a day 1 week I did the 3 a day for a week, then 2 a day for 3 days, then 1 a day friday and today(sunday will be my last pill)Not like she told me but I felt like the CHs were gone.Stopped the Verapamil the 26th Also got amitriptyline (antianxiety, sleeping pill{not addictive like say Lunesta})Really helped the first week,Quit taking it the 25th cause it made me like a zombie during the day. I dont understand how this wont work for everyone, sorry for the people it doesnt help.My doc didnt offer me oxygen,I guess she knew I wouldnt need it? Now I am gonna try some Champagne New Years Eve,kinda nervous, but I think my cycle is broken. My CHs hit me about every 2 yrs.for 3-6 wks.Do you think that believing the meds are gonna fix you helps? Its almost like I could have been given a placebo and if the doc told me it was gonna work my mind would have made it.I know its silly but the mind and body work in mysterious ways like someone else we know!

We talk about this issue a lot on the board and it's one worth repeating. We toss a lot of advice out on the board based on what's worked for us. I'm afraid sometimes we get lulled into a false sense of security because they're just "headache meds" and we start to think of all of it as tylenol! We deal with high horse power meds, imitrex, topomax, lithium, prednisone, miracle medications for many of us but we mustn't forget they are HIGH OCTANE meds. Increasing, decreasing or stopping dosages altogether should ALWAYS be under the supervision of a doctor. I'd give the doc a call, let him know where you curently are and get his/her advice. Better to have them a little irked with you then to tweak yer body up! Guiseppi

My wife would argue with you over which of us was the most stubborn I guarantee you! And I wish I always took my own advise as well as i give it... It's our body and our choices...just a loving reminder is all! Good luck with whichever option you end up with. Here's hoping you catch one of those HEAVENLY lengthy remissions! Guiseppi
