help for sleep

Hi All, I've been recently diagnosed (well sort of, I have to follow up with my doc to see if meds worked, etc.) with clusters, and the one problem that I don't seem to have is waking up in the middle of the night with a headache. I know I'm very lucky in this regard. I certainly wake up with headaches (at a reasonable time), and I can definitely never fall asleep if I've already got a headache, but I rarely wake up in the middle of the night. I've been on Ambien CR for close to a year now, for other issues, and it's a Godsend. I would never sleep through the night (headache or not) without it. I know it's bad to be on longterm, but it works for me, and for those of you in a cycle, it might be something to ask your doc about. I never related my waking up in the middle of the night to headaches (because I always seemed to be in pain), but I think the Ambien CR helps to ward off any incoming headaches, at least for a while. Yes, I still get them in the morning, ugh, sometimes days in a row, but at least I get to sleep at night. I promise I'm not a drug rep or anything, lol, but it's really helped me so I thought I'd share. Sue
