Imitrex Trick

Hello all in clusterville. I learned something at the drug store yesterday I thought was worth sharing. My insurance will only pay for 4 statdose refills every 28 days. I know this is a problem with many of us. However they will also pay for 4 6mg vials every 28 days giving me a total of 8 6mg doses. According to my pharmacist the code is different therefore to the computer it is two different drugs. With the vials I got BD ultra-fine short insulin syringes that are much friendlier than the statdose pop and sting method. The pharmacist said there would be nothing wrong with shooting the stat dose pen into the empty vial giving me 16 doses in 28 days if a 3mg dose is all I need to abort. So that is how I saved 566 dollars while I am waiting for little black specks to hatch into beast bashing clubs. PFDAN to all Mike

That is all good and there is also another example similar noted for being able to get more doses with the imitrex cartridge pen under the new visitors section titled, "imitrex tip". And it does save a hell of a lot of money too! But for those that can't deal with the vials, needles and all that it takes to do this feat while in such excrutiating pain in the wee hours of the night .. just know that well... some people accidentally left tons of the sealed boxes accidentally in my closet while visiting me! Ray remembers, so if you are not sure, drop him a line! Anyway, if you are one of those people that forgot their's, just drop me a line and please don't forget your address. Since, it's yours already, of course it's free but if you can reimburse for the postage, that is fine. Hoping all out there - PFDANs! - Jill PS. Don't be shy, I've already mailed 4 packages out to their rightful owners.

Yes, my insurance company does the same thing. I have used it for the last couple of years. Sounds strange, but you have to do, what you have to do, to keep yur sanity. Lee

My insurance is the same way in which they only cover 4 6MG vials a month. The trick is to talk to your doctor, have him contact your insurance company and tell them how much you need a month. I currently get 6 vials a month and up until recently I used the INJEX needle free injections. I don't have a problem with needles, just a pain to carry them around. However INJEX parts are no longer available so I'm switching to the medi-jector. Hopefully will have that by the end of the week.
