Diversion for Survival

The 6th week now and this is usually where I start to go a little crazy. I am still working with the seeds and not giving into meds. The 3-6 hits in the middle of the night are gaining in intensity, but I am toughing it out since the days remain pretty much PF. Anyway, lying on the floor and relaxing while breathing no longer works due to pain. So last night I decided to keep myself so busy that the pain could not get the best of me. I held the mask over my mouth with one hand, an ice-pack on my head with the other, jogged in place, and hummed the theme song from "Rocky". At one point I actually started laughing at myself (even with the ice pick jabs near the end) and the pain subsided. I did this three times during the course of the night. I felt pretty good today and I am looking forward to getting in shape. I'm still waiting for the seeds to help more and really hoping for a PF holiday season. I wish the same for all of you. Jackie

Jackie thanks so much for the word picture. My entire family, including the dog, would think I'd lost my flippin' mind if I did this (the humming part). But I have found if I over stimulate myself-keep really busy, move around alot, recite Shakespeare, whatever, it does do something. PFDAN y'all kathy

That's just a classic visual right there! lol One thing that helps (helps-not eliminates,...by any means) is having my G/F stroke my back super lightly, especially the sides (lats). To the point where you get goosebumps. Just another version of sensory stimulation. This is best when using the Oxy, waiting to see if it's going to build or not. If it builds,....don't touch me, but you get the point.

Whether you think you can or think you can't,....... you're probably right.
