Rebounds and Zomig?

Hi All,
I am currently on day 10 of a cycle and I was wondering if the zomig nasal spray that my neuro has perscribed for me has a rebound effect to it?  I've heard of this happening with some medication.

I'm also on Verapamil and luckily I had been in remission for just over a year and a bit.  I had been on a Verapamil dose of 40 mg 3 times a day.  My neuro had suggested that I try to wean myself down from that and I was down at 40mg once a day before this cycle hit.  I've increased back to 3 x a day again and I can go up to 80 mg 3 x a day without going back to see the neuro.  Will increasing my verapamil have any effect on shortening my current cycle?

Thanks for your help,
Keith

Given the few days you have been on Zomig I'd doubt you have rebound--but there are no tests for rebound except to stop using and see what happens. It's possible for a headache to last longer (its "normal" duration) than the effective life of the Zomig. Results in the attack not being fully aborted.

Suggest you print out these two articles and share with your doc. Your dose of Verap. is much lower than is standard with CH.

HERE ARE TWO MAJOR DOCUMENTS WITH RECOMMENDED TREATMENTS FOR CLUSTER HEADACHE, ONE FROM A U.S. PHYSICIAN, THE SECOND FROM EUROPE.

Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor.  It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S.  (2002. Rozen)
