Hi all, I saw my neuro yestereday and he put me on verapamil. Whilst I'm ecstatic that I finally have a prevent, I'm a little apprehensive. I looked up the side effects and they don't seem too bad. But have any of you had any that are a nuisance or worse? i just read a thread that it can interfere with exercising. That's interesting to me as I was hoping to be able to return to the gym once I was established on the verapamil. Have any of you had complications whilst exercising?

Hi Back Verapamil has been an absolute blessing to me. It took about 2 weeks to settle in properly and since then, about 3 months ago and as long as I take it regularly, I have been PF. I have had absolutely no negative side effects at all, memory is fine, run in the mornings, play golf and even drink beer. The only hassle is that I feel so well that I sometimes forget to take it and then the beast bites me so I have to remind myself all the time. I really hope it works for you Many,Many PF Days to you

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Be aware of the possible side effects but don't spend your time looking for them. Watching an waiting will only make for anxiety. If something develops, let the doc know. As for exercise, all you can do is try and see what messages your body gives you. Don't force yourself beyond your comfort level. Most of us find this med easy to live with.
