I've never tried it but after everything I've gathered from here it seemed like the logical step. So, I went to the neuro. today and he gave me O2. I left him at 10:30 and by 2:30 they were delivering. 2 M series tanks and 3 E series tanks( more O2 than I know what to do with), complete with a non-rebreather mask. I feel like with this, my imitrex, and the many other tools I've learned from all of you, I'm armed and ready to at least try and fight the beast.

Your going to love it. Apply directly to the forehead. NO really cut the string on the mask and plug the open butterfly. They put one flat rubber disk on one and leave the other open for some stupid reason. Put some tape on the open one and that will prevent you from sucking in ambient air. One is on each side of the nosepiece. all the best happy huffin thebb

Damnit I can't believe I forgot that piece of advice...Bzz is right...(for once)...cut that strap off. There is always the risk you'll fall asleep and you want the mask to fall away. Otherwise your tank runs dry, you are basically wrapped up in a plastic bag........so please remember to cut the straps off!!! Guiseppi

Thank you all for extra advice. I'll be sure to cut that strap and tape up the mask, I appreciate the help. I sucked on it a little bit, just to see, it's weird , no diff't than breathing. I couldn't even tell I was breathing O2. I don't know what I expected, but...? I don't know, I'm just glad I got it, yet I don't want to have to use it.(ya know what I mean?)

That's fantastic Soulroach. After 19yrs. O2 is still my best tool, along with some others that may be more harmful someway. The oxygen is clean. Biggest thing is get on it ASAP for it to be affective and know that it may not stop "PEAK" hits. For the majority of us it is very helpful even with not stopping peakers. Yours, Skyhawk5, (Don S)

First night update: seems to work pretty good. Woke up at 3:30 with that strange feeling(is it or isn't it?) Didn't wait to find out, went straight to the tank and in about 10 min I felt human again. I think 02 is going to be a handy little addition to my house.

by the way, I did the above mentioned adaptations to my mask(the tape and strap) thanks again. That little info may have been the difference. Had I not done it, maybe it wouldn't have worked as well and then I wouldn't feel as confident about it's useage. I love all the info and support that seems so abundant here in clusterville.

Update: O2 is O.K. Another night of waking to the fear of what the knocking beast may bring, another night of keeping him at bay just by hitting the tank! I haven't had to use any of my imitrex since the O2 arrived. What a super solution, now I know why it comes so highly recomended.
