Inderal LA

I've been on Inderal LA for a few years and it has worked well for me with an increase in dosage when it was needed. Lately, I've been taking it for 14 days and I'm still getting 2 CH a day. I'm been taking 3 60mg tablets for 7 days but still nothing. I ask the pharmicist about how many hours apart each dose should be and he told me to take all 3 60mg pills at once. How do you take your Inderal LA spreadout or all at once? How many hours apart do you take the doses?

I don't even know what it is? Is it a narcotic pain reliever?

Hmmm. I've never taken it. When I have taken verapamil, I've taken 240mg twice a day. And this was not the extended release type. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'm sure somebody with more knowledge will come along. Hang tight.

Inderal is not used for cluster in the most current recommendations. Memory says this is an old line migraine treatment. Wonder if your doc is current ?? Suggest you print this and discuss: Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S. (2002) http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf

I've been on Inderal LA for years. I started out with the regular Inderal 30mg but that didn't work. Then, my doc put me on Inderal LA and that works for me. I take 180mg though. Lately, it hasn't been as effective as it use too.....it decreasing intensity but not frequency. So my doc has also added Topamax this cycle. The thing I have found with Inderal LA is if I start taking it when I start getting mild shadows and stay on it for about a month a don't even enter a cycle. This time I just kick myself for losing the prescription and dragging my feet on getting it called in.
