I continue to struggle finding relief from CH. I've been suffering for a while. I just heard recently that ingesting "magic mushrooms" can abort an attack...and in some cases, cease the CH for a lengthy period of time. Any truth to this? Has anyone experienced this modality with any type of success? Please let me know. TY.

I'm 51 yrs old and have been a chronic CH sufferer for the last 14 years... I feel your pain. Having chased Dr's. and remedies around the world I can tell you that the mushrooms are the only thing that have worked. I've been in contact with Dr. John Halpern a research MD with the McClain Institute, studying the effects of Hallucinogens on Clusters, and the fine people at clusterbusters.com. While it took 4 treatments to break the cycle, I now dose twice 1 month prior to the date I broke cycle. Go to the clusterbusters.com site, google Dr. John Halpern and read his research study, the success rate with this treatment is almost perfect. Good luck and feel free to post questions.

zappa dude, We dont trip. We treat ourselves due to the failure of traditional medications to releive the worst pain known to man. We dose for medicinal reasons with a medicinal dose of alternative medication. There is already social taboo drug stigma associated with these and using druggie terms to describe our treatments does not help. IMHO If you want to trip, your talking to the wrong people. Dosing with mushrooms can and does releive the pain from CH. clusterbusters.com MAPS.com

Right on BBZ, this medicine is not a party, it's a studied non-traditional treatment. This was my last ditch effort that for me only desperation could have led me to. I was quite scared to try this treatment and I should add that the dose I take is quite small and never has lead to a hallucinogenic experience, the only symptoms I have are slightly brighter colors. I'd hate to see some knuckleheads ruin the efforts to legitimatize and legalize this as a acceptable treatment for cluster sufferers.

| There are both psilocybin and LSA. The personal testaments for shrooms and LSA are overwhelming as evidence for many who suffer no more. I am one of many that has had incredible success (so far) with the LSA containing RC seeds. In 30 plus years I found no effective treatments for my extreme CH. I have one at last.

I think they are used more as a preventative than an abortive, but they are used for both.

| i hear you- i am not here to use drugs- although millions use drugs prescribed by doctors that are 10 times worse than what grows in nature- i use the term trip jokingly- but no matter how you want to put it- or why you are using it- that is the term for it- i understand the stigma people put on such things- but the medical community is pushing so many drugs that are so bad for people ,i cant worry if how i say something will offend- i clearly said- i am not looking to do lsd for fun- i just think it's ironic for me- i did like it in the past, but stopped using it- and then my clusters started- and then to hear that it could be a cure for my worst nightmare intrigued me- i am a guy who says what is on my mind and thats all i can do- other than what these seeds and mushrooms can do for our headaches- i truly believe that they can help shine the light on an entirely new perspective on how to view the world in general- and that is a good thing- anyone who has done lsd knows what i am talking about- and are we to act like non of us have? this is not a drug forum-it's a headache forum- thats why i came here- to find a way to cure- or atleast help my headaches- i was quite surprised to see this subject on here at all and it happenned to bring back alot of memories to me- i quite frankly have been scared to even go near lsd ever again and still wouldnt- but seeds or maybe mushrooms-if they will take away the pain- yes i might do it- and if i had a little nice experience out of it...would that be so bad?

| listen - apparently you guys dont read an entire post- and i was joking- but what is wrong with saying the truth? if i wanted to trip or do drugs, this would not be the place i would come-....i guess some of you guys are real uptight about certain words.....what can i tell you- if my using the word trip- will stop all of you from getting you're seeds ,we got a big problem in this country. i was blown away when i saw this topic- i really havent done a lot of research on the headaches- i get them once a year for about 3 weeks- the other 49 weeks i dont think about them..or try not to- this time i decided to look for some updates and new possible cures- yes- in the past i did certain illegal drugs- so have millions of others- i admit it- so what- i reiterate, that i am not into doing drugs- legal or illegal- i want to find as natural a way as possible to stop my headaches..if it works and i get a nice feeling in the process ,i will enjoy it- i am not gonna be uptight about it- apparently i am rubbing some people the wrong way- i am sorry about that, but i came on here with a sense of humor and honesty- thats me and i wont be any other way

Hi zappa, No one is criticizing you personally, but we do take this quite seriously. This is a public message board, and we are here to help each other find treatments. While the terms you use are quite acceptable "on the street", we use terms that are more applicable to "treatments". Please read the clusterbuster site, and other threads on this board. pain free wishes, nani

I can relate to both sides of this debate, both are right. That being said, we can all move on. I'm really interested in this possibility, but what concerns me is where in the world would I get 'em? The street, would I trust the people I would be forced to deal with? I guess it's just something I'm going to have to come to terms with if I'm going to explore this option.

Most of us grow our own. See the clusterbuster site for details. Seeds containing LSA are also an option.

I plan to investigate this option. Scares me to death. I remember a bad experience when I was just a youngen'. However, I do not think anything can make a person fell more like a pile of sh*t than Topamax. I am terrible with the side effects of prescription drugs. I find no real pleasure in any drug really (Other than alcohol WHICH IT SEEMS I CANNOT HAVE ) . If this works for people it should be an option. Hell, half the stuff the doc prescribe I think is harder on you than the "bad" stuff out there. I am just glad to see there are people exploring fixes, and glad I found them.
