HI, I have had some surprisingly effective success treating my headaches with a plant called Kratom. It would appear that there are good reasons why Kratom may help treate CH. It actually contains one alkaloid ( rhynchophylline) that is a calcium channel blocker. Its most active alkaloid is Mitragynine wich is more distantly related to other tryptamine-based psychedelic drugs such as psilocybin or LSD. Finally, Mitragynine acts as a fairly selective mu-opioid agonist. Kratom. (2007, May 30). In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. I originally got it to detox off the opiates and it does an amazing job at that. So far I have had no luck in breaking a cycle like I have with LSA or psilocybin. It has a pretty good energy spike to it, so if you need to wake up right away a little with your coffee does a good job. I would be careful as not to over use it for I suspect it may have some rebound effect. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has had tried it and to what degree has it helped if any.
