Could someone explain how water therapy works? I am in the middle of my second cycle of clusters and am learning how to cope. Thanks.

When Doc Jerry first brought this treatment to the board back in 1998, he said that flooding yourself with that much water - and you have to, for it to be successful - changes the salts balance in your system. That, in turn, has an effect on your seratonin levels apparently. It also washes out good stuff too though, so it's important to take a multi-vitamin while you're doing this AND eat well. It worked miraculously for my husband that first time but hasn't aborted a cycle since. It still does less the frequency of attacks for him though and now it's just automatic that he reaches for many glasses of cold water while in cycle. It does help but it's not a cure.
