Codeine And Naproxen

I went to the Emergency today and met with a doctor. He didnt diagnose me with CH, and Im not even sure he's aware of it's existence... He prescribed me Tylenol 3 and Naproxen today. However, I could of sworn I read somewhere that codeine does nothing whatsoever for CH. Naproxen is comparable to Advil, which should also be useless, correct? Until I can talk to a neuro, Im thinking if Tylenol 3 doesnt work, then its just more evidence pointing towards CH... If anyone has any information regarding these meds for treating CH, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

| Potter is wrong again..... slightly dampen each pill and place them in every entrance of an ant colony that you can find....... Then wait a few months and you can go out and find junkie ants holding signs in your yard claiming to be Vietnam Vets of course Potter has a bigger then usual yard so he may not be on to this .......Tim

Keep them on hand, you'll end up with an ear infection, toothache, sinus infection, they're certainly useful as a pain killer. You're right, taking that stuff for CH is like pissing on a bon fire. You'll hear it from a lot of people cuz it works for a lot of people but try and get oxygen. Going on almost 30 years with these damned things and oxygen is still the best abortive for me. Good luck. | Yep. A doc fed me those things years ago--until I told him to pack an inappropriate orifice with them. on Jun 3rd, 2007, 11:28pm, SimOliLan wrote: as my cycle progresses, do the CHs become more frequent as well as more painful? |
| Maybe. With mine they do, but it seems to hit everyone a little differently. Worrying about what might happen is useless, though. The only way to get through a cycle is one hit at a time, one day at a time. Enjoy your pain-free times, and deal with each one as it comes along. It will end. Best wishes, George

sorry to change subject, but i hate to make a new post for what might be a simple question. how do you guys cope with the difficulty in sleeping? i only get 1 or 2 actual CH hits a night, but its the lingering shadows that keep me from sleeping afterwards. i can never fall back asleep for more than 30 minutes until im woken and i need to do a few exercises to brush off the shadows. i read something about melatonin helping i think, but is it worth using if i get my main CH hits during the night, when im guaranteed to be woken?

Hi Simon, this cycle of mine is going on 7 months and was more intense than ever before. I am taking 480mg Verap. daily and have been PF 22 days in a row. Not sure if cycle is ending or not but staying on meds until I am positive this time. I tried earlier but was still in cycle and got slammed but good. I have my o2 ready if needed. What I am saying or trying to say is that my CH's changed in intensity and the times that they hit me as the cycle went on. Never let your guard down but also live one day at a time and deal with one hit at a time also. Have you talked to your Doc about o2 at all? Works for most of us here and will stop my hit within minutes. Barry

i havent inquired about O2 yet, but by the sound of it i really should lol. everyone here is a salesman for O2 i actually plan on trying the shroom treatment to break my cycle... i just have to wait till after tomorrow because i have a court date (thats another story...) and i cant take a chance with the possibility of a drug test. i start a physically intensive job next week, and with the little amounts of sleep ive been getting, im afraid its going to hurt my body. im still young (19) so i plan on taking a relatively large dose of shrooms... i pretty much have one shot to do this
