The CH cause: Hypothalamus?

I´m new to this board and have read some of the topics with regards to symptom battling and attack aborting. We are pretty much screwed because there are so little of us I say... Maybe we should start thinking about doing some R&D ourselves during the painfree cycles. I´m just wondering about the Hypothalamus... Does anyone know where the medical community stands on this (if they have a stance at all)? Is it likely the cause of CH? What non-invasive solution might influence the Hypothalamus? Hormones? Vitamines? Other? Hopefully there is someone on this board who knows about this or at least can point in the right direction because I am willing to put a lot of time in this. And be a Guinea pig... You should check out the links on the left here, lots of info. from what i can gather there are only really hypotheses that the Hypothalamus freaks and causes these things but how and why is wide open to conjecture.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

The quick answer: Yes! This concept is so well established that it no longer occupies much discussion here; the concept is now frequently commented on in medical literature in a tone which says, Yes--this is so. See the buttons to the left; Headache links, then cluster news, then first item, "BBC..." The next question: So What? How does the hypothalamus create CH? That question has not been answered yet; it's accepted that, in some fashion, it's the trigger source but the actual mechanisms have yet to be grasped. Glad you are exploring!!!

And, please, keep exploring. There is no stupid question except the one you did not ask, or in this case, did not explore. Research is knowledge. Knowledge may some day find a cure. Sandy
