Is that all you are on?

The only thing I felt was extreme lethargy when I was on extended release.
That and lack of sleep lead to confusion.
When switched to standard or regular release I was no longer lethargic.

I did however have tons of confusion on topomax, depakote, and lithium.

Good luck and talk to your doc

No, I haven't.

But mental/mood changes, however unlikely could be a concerning side effect.  Confusion, if less likely, would be more concerning.  Tell your doctor if this is happening.

Hey Subsailor, I love Verapamil(calan)it's the only preventative that worked for me.Besides Histamine Desensitization . And that only works when I take my Calan after the treatment.Good Luck,Sub Many pain free days ahead for you.

Sleepiness, lethargy, constipation, and loss of libido were my major complaints. Yet I will take them all when necessary.

Confusion, Pyschosis from CH induced lack of sleep maybe but not from Verapamil.  At 720mg per day - year round I haven't logged the commonly reported lethargy, constipation side effects but at 960mg my lower legs/feet swell and become extremely painful.

Are you taking other medication? I take Verapamil, but not for CH.  It will bind you up. Doesn't do anything for my CH. I'm no more dippy then I usually am. Wink

Am on Lipator and aspirin since my quad bypass in December of 2000.  Also Neurontin, Celexa, and Prilosec for numerous other maladies since about 2001.

Nuerologist put me on Verapamil, Indomethacin, and Excedrin Migraine formula.

I basically lost 8 days of my life, have bits and pieces.  Also was arrested for assault, have never been in trouble with the law in my life.  Don't remember the assault...don't remember much of a Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday in jail either.

Was released on PR bond as I have no record but now am dealing with the legal system as well as CH's.  It seems the additonal stress has helped increase the frequency of the headaches.

Wife was gone, she got back and said she had never seen anyone so out of touch with reality.  Its been a month since stopping the Verapamil, some of my short term memory has returned, but am still missing pieces here and there.

Check to make sure you aren't taking too many meds or that the doses are correct.  Over medication, regardless of the med itself, can cause certain problems including memory lapses and bouts of agressive behavior.

I am not a doctor, but I would render a guess, that you may be having a reaction to a combination of the meds.

The only time I took that I stopped taking due to tremors and shaking like I have parkinsons.  Shaking is one of the possible side effects of verapimil.

I stopped taking it, but I still shake like a bastard.

Glad you mentioned the shaking, like I have seen people suffereing from the DT's.  And I still shake occasionally.

The nuerologist had a complete list of my meds, found out on the internet that Verapamil interacts with Lipator, and that the Indomethacin can interact with Aspirin, take 325mg daily and then he prescribes one or two Excedrine Migraine which are another 250 mg of Aspirin each, told me to take one or two every six hours.
