Imitrex question

I've used the auto injector pen last time on my last cycle 3 years ago, now i've started a cycle recently and I've got the auto injector but after reading the imitrex tip to the left, I'm just wondering where the best place to inject is...I was using my thigh, but I've heard that stomach fat or the arm (shoulder) works too. Also, I'm wondering how deep I push the needle in, it seems pretty long! Help soon would be great, it's 10:41pm and I'm feeling shadows right now, and don't want to have to wait for relief from the pills.... --NC78

Everybody does it in a different place. I do it in my forearm... but not many do it there. I go just below the skin, then inject slowly. Get yourself some vials and syringes. Makes life a bit easier.

Thanks lobster, That was fast! i couldn't wait unfortunately and did my thing in the bathroom, as my wife is sleeping and didn't want to wake her with the light on....I just went for it, I went for the thigh....did between 1/3 and 1/2 of the preloaded syringe. Seems to have worked for now...I figured a bit of pain doing it myself is better than 25 minutes of pure hell waiting for the pill to kick in. Didn't even hurt at all, I was suprised! The needle just kind of "slid" into my skin, but pulling it out was kind of rough seemed like it didn't want to come out as easy as it went in. hope i'm not grossing anyone out, certainly not my intent but if someone else is wondering it's not so bad! By the way lobster, I love the pic you use for your profile I'll be at the theatre on the 9th for sure! Your name reminds me of when I was in the hospital with my first cycle not knowing what was wrong, I told my wife (heavily medicated) that my head is a lobster and i just want to crack it open (in response to the severe pain I was in) Thanks for the response! --NC78

You only need to put the needle in 1/8" - 3/16". Should make it easier to pull out.

Ask your Doc. for a script for 0.5 ml insulin syringes. Use these with the vials. You have good dose control with them. -P.
