Caffeine content info

I have found caffeine to help ease or abort some of my CH. For me the more the better. I have a stovetop espresso maker "locked-and-loaded" at all times. I get a double shot in 5 minutes. (It's a Bialetti.) I have also found that Rockstar Juiced not only works but doesn't taste like a neon sweet tart. My heads in enough pain, no point in torturing my tongue as well.

Here's a link to caffeine content for various drinks : http://www.energyfiend.com/the-caffeine-database/

Hope it helps.

Hey Jeff -- You'll find that caffeine is our friend when it comes to these things.... vasoconstrictive properties I believe.  Like you,  I have a coffee machine that makes a cup of coffee in less than a minute.... best investment I've ever made.  Caffeine sometimes in and of itself will abort a CH for me presuming the KIP hasn't got too high ...

Thanks for the info !!

Energy drinks abort my attacks for sure. But, I have also got help from caffeine tablets. 100mg tablet or 2 have aborted attacks in the past.

I hope this helps,
Sanna

I go with the vivirin(sp?) tabs 200mg (also available in generic) with a Mountain Dew chaser. If its a bad one splitting the tab in halves or quarters seems to speed relief a bit.  For me this begins to work in about 15 minutes and after 1/2 hour the pain is down to a dull roar.

The first time I tried coffee (regular caffinated) it didn't do anything to abort. Yesterday after 2-1/2 hours of the beast, I ground and brewed a nice strong cup and Voila! within 15 minutes no more pain.

I've tried several types of caffeine. Usually if I wake up and the pain is too bad, coffee won't help. I have to hit the caffeine at the very first hint. I know I'm re-hashing other people's threads.

Anyway, now my solution is the DEW. It's easier to drink fast, and it tastes pretty good. I aborted an attack in 5 minutes last night. Since this epsiode started I've been a light sleeper, so I popped up as soon as it began. I downed about half the DEW and waited, sittin up in bed. Then The BEAST was gone.

This is only my second episode in my life. There was a 3-year span between them. Now I'm so p#ssed off that the CH is back.  Angry

My neurologist has me on steroids and anti-depressants. I don't know the names off hand. Hopefully it ends soon.
