Anyone tried this teatment?

"When the appliance touches the lower four front teeth a reflex is triggered ( Discoveredf by Swedish physiologists) that affects the trigeminal nerve which prevents teh temporalis muscle from fully clenching. It was developped by a dentist with migraines who ahd to quit practice due to the pain. The clenching , particulalry uncontrolled at night causes a "spasm" in a structure called a muscle spindle, when irritated this becomes a target for triggers. Which are a sympathetic or involuntary nervous impulse which has many triggers. When affected the muscle spindle sends pain signals in the form of pain triggers. The appliance called an NTI reduces clenching, and if the person grinds while clenching the muscles which move the jaw will also go intp pain spasms. for example a person who clenches and moves the jaw forward in a tight position will have neck pain, sideways grinding while clenching will have pain acorss the sheek area which can be referred to teh sinuses and behind the eye."

I'm not related to the product, just curious because I searched and couldn't find anyone mentioning here.

Hi Phase

Sorry but it is just a smaller version of a hard nite gaurd with a bite plane on it ( the only kind of NG you should ware) NG's are great for TMJ headaches which are Very pain full. I have worn a NG for years ( I am a grinder) I have chronic CH and migraines. The NG does nothing for either of those types, but helps a great deal for TMJ headaches. I have full open locks on both sides (ruined my TMJ from grinding) both of my condyles are worn, there bone spurs flooting around, my articular disc is total gone on one side on the other it is not were it should be. We have someone here that had their TMJ fixed, I am sure they will speak up ( I wouldn't do it) It is a very painfull.
Sorry I ddn't have better new for you on this, but unless you are having probs with your TMJ it isn't really going to help with your ch or migraines. But as I said it does work for TMJ headaches.

I've known Dr. Boyd since before he finished designing the NTI. He used to fly people (with bad migraines) into his office and fit them for free while he was in the design stages.

The NTI is really like no other guard or bite plate. He got a lot of flack from dentists that were fitting people with the standard guards/plates.

He actually survived a more thorough beating then ch.com usually hands out to suspected snakeoil salesmen to follow thru, design and send the NTI thru clinical trials on migraines and get a patent.

I've continued to hear good things about it but just like everything else,,,,works for some and not others.
