My GP prescribed SYMBYAX 6/25 to me three days ago and I have not had a CH since then. I have had shadows once for about 10 mins. that were very mild. I know it is close to the end of my cycle so I'm not really sure if the medicine is the reason for my pf days. Has anyone else ever taken this med. with good results or am I just really grasping for hope here? I am also bipolar and my gp thought it would be beneficial for CH's as well as bipolar. If anyone has taken this medication, please let me know your results. PFDAN to all of you....GOD BLESS...

I looked it up since I had never heard of this medicine before. It is a combination of zyprexa and prozac. In that case there have been some people here who have had luck with zyprexa stopping there ch. So I would say yes there is a chance that it could kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak.

Symbyax contains 6mg of zyprexa which can act as an abortive med so there is a possibility that it is already working. Many people here take 5mg of zyprexa at times of attacks as abortive and it works within 7 mins. The 25 mg of prozac would take longer to reach therapeutic level, usually 2 weeks. What dosage are you taking and what times of the day are you taking this? Painfree wishes to you. Annette
