I am new here & after reading all the helpful posts, decided to see Dr. again to get O2. The question I have is, once he prescribes it....how do I go about getting it? I just called insurance company to make sure they will cover it & they had no idea what I was talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am in the process of getting some 02 also. The dr office made a phone call to someone. This co then called me the same day to schedule the 02 delivery to me at home. I will have to give them the prescription when they deliver it.

THANKS for the reply. I have appointment in 45 minutes & want to be able to tell him what needs to be done. I ended up looking up Oxygen in yellow pages & sure enough it listed home medical equipment. I called & they said the Dr needs to fax the script to them & they will come out within 48 hours for delivery. Let me know how you like it.

Call your insurance company back and ask them who they contract with for durable medical equipment in your area. This contract company will need to have a copy of your Rx on file before they'll deliver. Best of luck!
