Final report on this past cycle--kudzu major help

Grin
I am happy to report that my recent cycle of CHs ended about 7 days ago, making this one 4 weeks shorter than the one I had 3 winters ago.  I used to be a fall cycle person but last 3 cycles started in December (Merry Christmas!! Embarassed)   I did have a few minor CHs in between the 3 years when I stayed up too late several nights in a row, but those did not become cycles.
The main reason for posting is to report what worked for me so that it might help someone else. As soon as my cycle started, I began taking two 250 mg of magnesium per day (one morning and one night),  added one 750 mg tablet of Kudzu Recovery just before bed, and added one .5 mg of klonepin (mainly to reduce my anxiety level which always goes up in cycle).
The only new thing this time was the kudzu. I added one additional pill per day and by day 3 could see a HUGE difference.  Instead of 2 moderate CHs at night (kip 5-6), I only had one at kip 2-3 that was easily aborted with a very cool damp cloth lightly pressed to my temple area and above the eye. I have found that the coolness without pressure works best for me.  In less than 10 minutes, the CH was gone.
I found that taking 5-6 a day was too many and actually did not help, but that 3-4 per day worked best.  Timing was important...mostly taking them the same time every day.  I took one in the morning around 8 am, one mid-afternoon around 4 pm, one at 11 pm and took another when I got up to go to the bathroom (I always have to do this during CH cycle because I am usually drinking nearly a gallon of water a day....through the day).
I started feeling SO good and had no shadows by day 10 that I thought I had gone out of cycle, started tapering off the kudzu....and they came back.  Huh
So, had to start all over again and took a bit longer this time to get settled back down.  Took about 5 days instead of 3.  I am sure that the other meds, drinking water and going to bed at 11 pm EVERY night also helped, but the kudzu was the only new thing addded this time and it is the only thing I've tried other than spooky meds that actually helped me prevent the CHs during cycle.
I hope others can have the same experience.  I feel for so many of you who are chronic and have no break at all from the beast.

YAY! I'm very happy that the kudzu helped this time, red.  Smiley When it works for someone, it usually works pretty well. It's true, it's all about the timing.
continued pf wishes, nani
