just found this on the msn.ca homepage - warnings for med combos with melatonin and also with st. johnswort!  Let's be careful out there!!

HERB Melatonin (insomnia, jet lag) AND DRUG: Antidepressants (Luvox/ fluvoxamine), heart medication (Adalat), Immunosuppressants (prednisone)
POSSIBLE EFFECTS
Antidepressants may increase levels of melatonin dramatically and cause excessive sleepiness; may increase heart rate and blood-pressure levels; may interfere with the action of immunosuppressants

HERB St. John's wort (depression) AND DRUG:
Antidepressants, HIV protease inhibitors, asthma medications, blood thinners, chemotherapy, heart medications, oral contraceptives, tetracycline
POSSIBLE EFFECTS
Significant headaches, stomach upset and restlessness; significantly increases the elimination of these drugs, thereby making them noticeably less effective; increases sun sensitivity

Cant take melatonin with antiphycotics either.  The major antiphycotic taken on this board is zyprexa but could also be abilify, geodon, seroquel, haldol, etc.
