Taurine, seeds and a mild cycle

My history has been regular cycles every 27 months or so with the cycle lasting about 6 -8 weeks and with the worst period being about two weeks or so.
Until the last go around I didn't know much so never used triptans, verap or any other meds. The last cycle I tried verap, pred, and a couple of Zomig tabs but quickly decided I had made a big mistake. I strongly believe that the combination was the cause of the longest most painfull cycle yet. But once I was in I was in until it was over.
Before this cycle started I had been drinking Red Bull pretty regularly so my system was pretty well full of Tuarine when it started. I got some Tauirne tabs from GNC and started with a Red Bull and 1000 mg Taurine 3 times a day about 3 weeks into it when things started getting a little more serious. The one thing I noticed is that the hits took way longer to ramp up and equally long to ease up but never got extreme. I also noticed allot of neck pain which I never had before.
About 4 weeks into it when the routine had set in the RC seeds arrived. I tried 10 with little affect. Two days later 26 when another hit was getting started and got instant relief. I was good for two days when things started getting painful again and dosed with 26. Again instant relief. Over the next two weeks I continued to abort and got 2 -3 days of near complete relief with one acception of two days in a row that I dosed. (All through this period I continued with the Red Bull and Tuarine.)
Its now mostly over and with eight weeks under my belt I can count about 10 hits that got up to about an eight with nothing worse. I know I could have avoided most of these if I had dosed but I made a conscious effort to not overdue it. All in all a very tame cycle compared to previous cycles.
The seeds had little affect on my ability to work, play or function, just a nice mellow feeling and I got to sleep sound as a baby. I had only one nite hit after I started while I was getting woken up twice a nite before.
Next time I'll try to start earleir with the hopes of stopping it in its tarcks. If that doesn't work I have an abortive and a prevent that if used carefully makes this malady very bearble.

Total cost of my meds.
Taurine 300 tabs. - $30.00
Seeds 2 x 500 with express mail  - $130.00
Red Bull +/- $120.00 over what I would normally spend.
Mild cycle - priceless

The best part - I still have plenty left to plant and with my climate they can grow all year. Grin

I really need to reserve comment until I get through this season completely, but this year has been really unusual for me so far.  I started shadowing about 8 weeks ago which is about the time my cycle would usually begin.

Desperate and tired of all the meds etc., I decided to try the RC seeds.  I dosed twice over two weekends and things settled down a bit for a while.  The shadows began building again a couple of weeks later and have been building in frequency and intensity for the last two weeks to the point where I wasn't sleeping more than an hour or so straight without having to jump on the Oxygen.  Fortunately the O2 with the clustermasx brought relief every time within 15 minutes.   So, the pain never really got passed a Kip 5, but it was really screwing with my sleep to the point where the last couple of weeks I was getting in pretty bad shape from sleep deprivation.

Well, last night I decided to give the seeds another try, did 35, and I had the first pf night I've had in a month.  I'm beginning to believe this might work for me, but like i said, probably to soon to tell.  For now I'll just say the break was nice and check back in a few weeks with an update.

I know I didn't follow the precribed method with the seeds but never having successfully aborted a hit before I was hooked. After my first success I became pretty much of a wimp knowing I had something that would almost immediately take away the pain.
I began to prepare doses before hand and after soaking in a couple ounces of water for up to 12 hours. I would then stick it in the freezer until I had two or three ready and standing by.
I don't know what would have happened if I had been stronger and waited the prescribed # of days and upped the dose. I settled on 26 because it took away the pain, let me sleep and had little residual affects. Still some mild shadows but nothing that caused me to alter my life. Maybe this is equivilant to the sput method with shrooms?

karma -

Maybe the way you did it is okay...

Since LSA and psilocybin are related, the assumption has been you needed to wait five days with seeds the same as with psilocybin.

But now some are begining to suspect the wait might not be necessary with LSA seeds. Your experience might be a little more evidence of this.

26 seeds would be a larger dose than a SPUT. This is all experimental and folks should start small and work up, but many are finding 20 to 30 seeds to be about right for a medicinal dose.

Friday I got a K3 warning, so Saturday I did 30 seeds (soaked 4 hours) to see if it might head off a cycle. Just a hint of psychedelic, had a post dose K5 the next day, nothng to speak of since. We’ll see how it goes.

Rich - thanks for the reportand good luck with the seeds

Hi Karma
Good to hear you had a kinder cycle this time around.
I see from your post that you didn’t start the Taurine tablets until you were into your cycle; from my experience with taurine it takes a while for it to get into your system, I started a trial with taurine in April this year & it took a while before I got some positive results.
If you have a look at my blog on the trial you will see that it took about 3 months before it started to fully take effect.
From when I started until late August I had some periods of PF time the longest being 14 days; I then got a break of 39 days PF from August 23 till October 2 when I got 1 savage hit that lasted for about 3 minutes, since then I have been PF with light to heavy shadows but no hint of a hit, I’m currently 87 days PF & hoping it will continue.

From what I have been able to understand from trialling this is that if you are episodic you may have to start the taurine about three months prior to your cycle starting if you are regular in your cycles & know when you would be expecting one to start.

I have read everything I can find on taurine & have not been able to find any reference to taurine & Clusters; the only assimilation I can make is that taurine like some of the other abortive i.e. Kudzu is also used in treating alcoholism, one thing I did find interesting was that pregnant or lactating women have an increased level of taurine & it makes me wonder if that is the reason some women report that they don’t get hit during pregnancy.

Barry,
Thanks for the info, I had looked through your blog before which is what made me decide to try and find the Taurine tabs.
I had been drinking Red Bull daily before hand so the tabs were in addition to probaly 3-4000 mg daily, that I was used to.
I have found that one Red Bull and 1000 mg Taurine will knock the crap out of a potential hit if taken in time. This works better than 2 Red Bull or Taurine and Coffee or any other combination of the three.
added:
I should clarify that of the ten or so more serious hits. 3 were predosing and only 2 got up to a level 8 after I began dosing. None lasted more than about 45 minutes accept for one mulitple hit episode that lasted about three hours but never got unbearble.
Used as an abortive the seeds would kill a ramping up hit in less than 5 minutes and all the hits I aborted were a success. I'm not sure if it was the affect of the Taurine but the hits built up very slowly giving me enough time to decide if it was gonna be a bad one or not.

Great news Karma. Seems you did it right for you.

Rich dont be afraid to experiment within reason, glad you got a good nights sleep.

Those little seeds can battle these Clusters and remove the pain better than anything I could ever do.

As with anything else in my opinion the dosing is a little different for each of us with the RC seeds. But once you find what works for you it becomes harder to remember the worst of the pain.
