hey peeps, just bored at work again and was wondering . . .
a friend of mine was complaining of a bad headache last night and i jokingly offered him a stab of my imitrex.
obviously i wouldnt dream of it but i couldnt help wondering what would happen to a non ch headache if imitrex was administred ??
nothing ??
would it get worse ??
iv really no idea !!! has anyone else

have u seen an injector kit ?? its only like a pen.
you only hear a click and feel a slight prick - u dont even see the needle going in !!

If he was suffering from a tension headache, Trex would probably make things worse. Like caffeine, Trex constricts blood vessels, and tension headaches can get worse from anything that constricts.

I wouldnt just poke your friend, tell him to go see a doc. When I started getting ha's I was in the er and they hooked me up with an iv and injected me with trex just to make sure I wouldnt have a reaction. But that was a long time ago.

Uhhh, Imitrex is a (prescribed) migraine medication, which just happens to have beneficial effects for some CH sufferers, myself included. My guess is that it would blast just about any headache out of the water. And assuming the person isnt alergic and does not have a heart condition, it wouldn't be a major problem.

It does. IO tried it for a sinus and a tension headache and was sorry I did.

I am the worlds biggest wuss when it comed to needles but the imitrex inj "pen" was something I could do myself. It would take me about 30 seconds to decide stopping the pain was more important than the needle prick and it was ALWAYS worth it (when it worked for me). (yes I am that afriad of needles that I actually wouldhave to convince myself to do it while having a CH).
If you don't have abortives that wrok most of the time, get one. Even needlephobes can do it.

So far it has been a lot easier to get a red bull when I get hit. I won't mix these two, but it's great to know that if rb stops working and I need trext advice, it's right here.
