Another Melatonin Success Story!!!

I've suffered from CH since I was 16 (approx 18 years). Anyway I used to be a chronic sufferer and about three years ago they went dormant! Now, by definition, I’m considered episodic (thankfully). To make the long story short, most of the doctors I've visited said "It's only a headache, deal with them!" Clearly they didn't understand the pain that is associated, and ignored my description of the symptoms. Only recently did I finally get diagnosed with CH... About 6 weeks ago, I started a new cycle. Frustrated with my experiences with doctors, I took matters into my own hands and started to read everything I could find on CH. During my research, I came across many articles talking about how Melatonin can help kill a cycle! Apparently (as I’m sure many of you know) CH sufferers are Melatonin deficient and even more so during an active period. Desperate for something to work, I tried it. I started with 9mg (approx 0.04mg/LB) 1/2 hour before I went to sleep. I continued this for two nights but had to reduce my dosage as I had a big reduction of energy throughout the day. I jumped down to 6mg (approx 0.026mg/LB) and although I still noticed a reduction of energy, it's more manageable. The good news is that I've only had 3 attacks since I've started the treatment (almost 3 weeks ago)! And those attacks happened when I missed a nightly dose! This is a HUGE reduction of attacks as I was getting an average of 2 per day previously (I get both mid-morning and nightly attacks)!!! If I did my math correctly, that is a 93% reduction of attacks! I don't know if it will work for everyone, but I tell you, I can't believe that I finally found something that worked for me!!!! I only hope that this information can help others, as I know how unbearable the pain can be…
