It's over -

Hi All, Looks liike this lsat pile of crap that we all deal with is almost over for me. The important thing is that the last few weeks have been unbelievably low pain or no pain. I was on Verapamil (240 X 3), Indocin (25 X 4) and Imitrex (tabs - 50 X 4 + spray - (25 X 2) and Lithium (450 SR X 3). There was minimal help with this. So, first we weaned off the imitrex (24 hrs nothing), and then Migranal. The igranal, well, I never experienced that kind of relief. Full blown headbanger - 2 sprays, and within 10 mins, it was over. It's a spray form of DHE 45... That was 3X day for 5 days, then 2X day for 5 days, then 1X day for 5 days - at the same time, reducing and eventually cutting out the verapamil. Had to deal with the HA with OTC meds. On the 16th day, started Methgine, Day to of thhe Methergine, I woke in the morning to what may have been the worse HA of this entire cluster. However, it's been 3 weeks, and after the first week, I haven't had anything above a 5 (and those are few). I've gone from sleeping 1.5 - 2 hrs/night to getting 5 - 7, and I go to bed without the fear of what's going to awaken me! Down side (and I am MORE than happy to deal with this rather than the HAs)- pretty spacy. In fact, it's mildly hallucinigenic, I think. So, it's got to be a REAL necessity for me to drive anywhere, and that is, at most, 7 miles (and I live in the country, so there's pretty much zero traffic). Well, I wanted to share this with you all - maybe someone is in the same boat I was in... If anyone has anymore questions I can provide answers to, let me know. I'll be more than happy. Peace (whew) to everyone. Jack

Success! Congratulations on getting through another one. Hope it's a very, very long remission for you. Best wishes, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)
