Done w/ Topamax

That's friggin IT! After the last few days, I've finally decided that I'm discontinuing this damn drug. Not only have I been suffering from some pretty severe dizzy spells whenever I'm doing anything strenuous or getting up from a seated or squatting position, but this past weekend I passed at least 2 kidney stones! I'm NOT a happy camper! So, not only do I have CH, but now I'm dealing with dizziness & kidney stones to boot!!!! FUCK THAT SHIT! I called my GP yesterday and asked him how to taper off this drug. No more. I'm done. I need a new drug!!!! The sides aren't worth the shoddy positive effects of Topamax.

Topomax did NOT work at all for me. All it did was make me fall asleep uncontrollably at all times of the day. I would be watching TV or something and before I knew it, it was 2 hours later. It was really wierd..

I've been on Topamax 2.5 weeks. Definitely feeling Dopey, sleepy at night. I have not had any kidney stones. I have resisted my Dr wanting me to up the dosage, so I've stayed at 75mg per day for the past 10 day or so. IT has been working for me. I've had one CH in the past 2 weeks that I aborted successfully with oxygen and 50mg Imitrex PILL. I've been in my cycle for about 3-4 weeks. Just tapered off of prednisone yesterday, now thats a different story. I was at 60mg for 10 days then decreased by 5mg per day until off completely. I am glad to be done with it, but damn, the aches are no good. Topamax seems to be beneficial for me right now though.

Topamax was an aweful drug for me too. Made me dumber than a bag O hammers ... gave me kidney stones twice (the first time requiring surgery & a stent) ... and it never helped the 'headaches' at all. UNsolved

You remember the ones that work and you remember the ones that are terrible. Topomax falls in the latter. Lee
