Imigran jabs making it worse, help needed!

Hi again people. Right I dont use O2 as it does nothing for me before we go any further. Also just gone up to 720 verap 2 days ago. My Imigran jabs have been a life saver for me untill last night! I know you souldn't but sometimes I do use more than 2 of these in 24 hours & have never had any problems. I had 2 jabs yesterday prior to last night, at 14:00 & 17:00, the one at 17:00 took longer to work than normal. Ok, last night, this is where I need your opinions....... 10:30pm. In a resturant, felt one coming on, went outside, had a jab, 5 then 10 minutes, the only thing happening is the thing is getting worse. So, jumped in the car, got home & the thing has turned into a full scale kip 10, the injection seemed to make it worse! This has never happened before after a jab! 11:30pm went to bed. 1:15am here we go again..... kip fucking 10 again, didnt take a jab, took a sumatriptan tablet for what its worth & the headache lasted 20 minutes, a lot shorter than the previous one. 1:45am back to bed. 4:15am awake again, only a kip 2 - 3 though, took another Sumatriptan tablet, 10 - 15 minutes later, headache gone. Thats it so far no headache since. So do you think the problem I had with the two kip 10's is to many injections? Has this happened to anyone else where the injection seem to make it worse?? I am praying that the injections haven't decided to stop working as I really do not know what I would do! Any opinions greatly appreciated as usual. Paul

Yes, I have a cpl of comments. (1) why would you take Imitrex for a Kip 2 - 3 ?? (2) Imitrex injections always make my attacks worse, but only for a matter of minutes, then it 'kicks in' and stops the pain within 15 minutes or so. (3) I never take Imitrex unless I absolutely have to ! UNsolved

| This wasnt an injection, this was a tablet. The idea was to take a tablet to try & stop it getting much worse

I read that it was a tablet you took but still wanted to ask the question. I can see why you took it though ... to try and stop it from getting worse. Understandable. Imitrex may be the wrong drug to try using as a preventative though. IMO, Imitrex is for the 'bad ones'. Goodluck UNsolved

Just got back from my Neauro again (had to check my ECG was ok on 720mg Verap) Had a quick word with him about Imigran jabs & he said they shouldn't make your headaches worse under any circumstances, wasn't quite sure why that happened last night. He said (quote) " don't spare on them, if you need one use one, money no object" Basically i'll see what happens next time I have to use one.
