I thought this was semi-common effect of defferent meds. When my mom was alive, and also a pastor I used to know, both used to hallucinate with codeine. My mom always saw people and interacted with them. I tried to help her by monitoring the meds the docs gave her over the years, but every so often one would sneak in codeine or synthetic codeine and mom would see the extra people. Some were scary and some she liked better than the real ones. The first time I used Inderal, in 2002, the stage of my headaches or the meds put me in sort of a constant rem type state, even awake, and I had two companions for the week I tried it. I stopped because I was walking 1 1/4 mile four times a day, and I had to sit down in the middle of my loop due to dizziness. I often get dizzy w/meds. I'm nearsighted w/astigmatism & r. side nystagmus, and sometimes I think I see my cat moving near me like a shadow, but nothing is there. Charlotte ps My extra people did not acknowledge my existence, they just co-existed. I think that is less scary than what the female in the link went through & what my mom went through. I think I would avoid deep brain stimulation, if it became an option.
