Just got some of this from the doctor, basically because after speaking to Helen, it apparently can act as agood preventive for up to 20 odd hours after taking it.

So what I might do when i'm due an attack ie: next one should be an hour after going to bed later, is take one before bed.

Problem is, if I then still get an attack I will want an Imigran jab & obviously know its generally not a good idea to mix Triptans especially within a couple of hours of each other which I wouldn't do.

So, maybe if I take one now, that should leave a good 7 hours or so before I may need an Imigran jab.

Just wondered if anyone else has had success with Frovatriptan?

If I were you I would put the imigran away for the night.
Get icepacks ready and coffee brewed.
Why take a chance!

Hi, I am inclined to agree with the above, put the imigran in the cupboard, make sure you have ice packs, coffee, or may be some red bull to hand.  You should find the fravatriptan works with a bit of luck---------------------------------------------------------------Cheer s Roy Cheesy

Get ice and melatonin ready to take.  I tried frova and amerge on seperate occassions.  They both are suppose to abort your ch plus keep the beast away for many hours like 10-12.  I found it aborted my ch but when the next scheduled ch occurred right on schedlue 2 hours latter there was nothing I could do but ice and melatonin.  Good luck.

I've had some very decent success with Frova.  It is a slow acting triptan, so it's not good for an immediate CH attack.  It should take about 1-2 hours to effectively vaso-constrict.  Oddly enough for my migraines, it usually clear them up in about 20 minutes.  When I've taken it for CH, it does absolutely nothing for the hit I've got at the moment, but it will keep me PF for at least 24 hours thereafter.....EVERY TIME WITHOUT FAILURE.  For me, it's been highly reliable.  The only problem is that I can't take more than 6 pills in a week's time and with my condition, my doc's written the script so that I'm taking 2 Frova instead of 1 at each dosing period.

I hope it works for you!  PFDAN's!
