I was perscribed these 2 drugs together and then when a doctor was doing some research for me found this:

[Migranal/verapamils]

avoid combo: combo may incr. risk of ergot toxicity, severe vasospasm and ischemia (hepatic metab. inhibited)

Yet another wonderful drug interaction.  On another unrelated note, I still haven't found an anti-depression medication that either doesn't trigger CH or interact with triptans.

I was in the hospital two weeks ago for the DHE-45 treatment, and the doctors there continued to give me verapamil (240 mg, 2x/day). Seems they either don't know about this interaction, or it's bunk. I seemed to have no ergot toxicity, severe vasospasm, or ischemia.

No interactions found.
I have not heard of this either and considering they have opposite effects I wouldn't think that this was a correct statement, however I am not a doctor or a pharmacist or a matchmaker or a cobbler or a mandingo warrior.

I spoke with my doctor this morning who says he has percribed this combo for years without any problems.  However, the site i got this from is one I KNOW other doctors use for interactions.  (epocrates?)

Anyway, it could be wrong.

I am currently on Migranol and Verapamil and have had no problem.  Today i am switching to DHE 45 Injections instead of Migranol.  These Chronic Clusters have been a real bitch lately...nothing is keeping them under control.  Anyway, I have read about no problems with combining the two

You mentioned you thought triptans interact with antidepressants.  Can you tell me more about this?  I have been on anti depressants and trex and other triptans for several years.  While at the same time taking such antidepressants as wellbutrin, celexa, effexor, and cymbalta.  Currently on effexor.
I also take antiphycotics which I know interact with melatonin so I cant take that.  I have geodon, abilify, seroquel.  I need these meds.  So any info you can give me about drug interactions would be benifitial to know what I am getting myself into.  Thanks.
