Well guys and gals I'm back one more time to give you A update on what I believe to be one of the best decisions I ever made.I had the stimulator procedure done Feb 2 06, and have been prety much PF ever since. After being a sufferer for 29 years, chronic for the past 10,I couldn't be happier.I'm almost tempted to use the cure word  Lips Sealed.           Well most of you have read my past threads and know my history,as well the details of the procedure. So I will not go into that right now.If anyone is not familliar with my story just ask and I will be happy to fill you in.  Smiley                  I wish you all PFDAnd good luck dealing with your deamons.     John

Hello gabi. The short version is ,its a small electric stim. placed on the trigeminal nerve. The stim. is placed under the skin above the eyebrow. You can not even tell its there. Its attached to a battery in my chest by way of a wire ,which is also just under the skin. It comes with a remote control which I can use to turn it on and off, and control both amperage and voltage. This device is made by Medtronic. I had the procedure don at University of Cincinnati hospital, By a Dr. Manybur from the Mayfield spinal Institute. The procedure was done as two outpatient visit and I was back to work in about a week. The best part is that the procedure is revervseable.     I hope this the Info you needed if you have anymore ques. just ask.                   PFD to you John

Hey Zeus,
Glad your still doing better. Thanks for the update.
Gabi, This is a not something to take lightly as I am sure Zeus has told you. Do a site search on DBS. This is not for everyone. Zeus was in an awful bad way I'm sure to have this done, as I think he would agree.
all the best

Hold on a min there thez. This is not a DBS [deep brain stimulator.] It is a super orbital stim. The big difference is this is not brain surgery, nor does it have to be permanent.[other wise if it doesn't work for you or you just dont like it. You can have it removed.] Again it was done in two outpatient visits with local anthisisi ??? . However you are right no surgery should be done without a certain amount of thought. In my case I had exhausted every other poss. therapy and med avail. , but looking back at all the weird sideaffects from the meds , the pain from the beast, as well as some of the painfull therapys. Iwish I would of found this first. It truly has given me my life back  Smiley                 PFD to you and trhanks for any input.
