Thank God for Melatonin!

Ok, my second night last night where I only got hit once, 2 hours after falling asleep & even then didnt need an Imigran jab.

Usually I would get hit again at 4am & then at  7-8am.

I'm putting this down to Melatonin which I started taking 6 day's ago.

I just got hit an hour ago seemed more like a migrain than a CH (weired Undecided) & had to use an Imigran jab, same time as yesterday & hopefully will now be ok for rest of the day.

Basically my question to you is, on the 27th Aug when this current pred taper ends & believe me I'm sick of doing pred tapers, if the Verap hasn't kicked in i'm seriously thinking of jacking the lot & going herbal onto Taurine or Kudzu?

opinions?

How long have ya been on verapamil?
What dose and what kind (extended, standard)?

Melatonin does rock!!!!

Do what you have to do.

I did it all too then scrapped and went med free.

Don't regret it at all.

Enjoy the ride

Started 2X120mg Verapamil on the 27th July.
Then went up to 2X240mg modifid release on the 2nd Aug which is what i'm currently taking along with a pred taper.

Also my bloody knees are hurting which I think ive read on here that someone else has experienced, not too sure what this is down to.

As I said I had a CH earlier which started off more like a migrain, (I dont get Migrains) which I killed with a jab.

What it is, im pretty sure the Melatonin is sorting my night time attacks & im just debating how long to give the Verap or go to the docs & up it or, as I say give it all up & go to Taurine or something.

Ive got Taurine sat right in front of me but am a little wary as weather to take it because of the Verapamil although I am drinking Redbull which has Taurine in.

Oh decisions decisions!

Nothing.
I just use oxygen to abort.
If an emergency meaning conducting a seminar or lecturing, then I may take a jab or zyprexa..........this is very rare...........I am doing fine....low cycle 1-2 hits or just shadows. high cycle 4-5 sometimes more.

such is life but it is all good

E, I see you guys talking about really low doses of melatonin and the good its doing, but the only dosage I've found at the groc. store is 300 mg. Is that too high?

Jen,I think you mean 300 mcg (micrograms). 3 of those is 0.9 mg, just under 1 milligram. You would need 10 of them for 3 miligrams, or 30 of them for 9 mgs! My grocery store carries 300 mcg and 1 mg.

The 3 mg tablets are available.  If your grocery store doesn't have them, try a local health food store.

Melatonin is the only thing I take, other than magnesium and calcium supplements.  None of these are a magic bullet, but I'm convinced that they do help.  Only personal experience, I know, but there it is for what it's worth.

Gotta put my two centavos in here- Melation absolutely gave me  back my sleep.  I take 9 mg.  I also take benadryl and have for years because if I don't take it I can't breathe at all through my nose causing 1. horrid noise, 2. poor sleep  3.  marital discord 4.  sore throat.
Melatonin rocks!!!
P.S.  I think its important to remember no tot take it during the day-it would probably really screw up our already screwed-up circadian rhythms.

PFDAN y'all,
I just love you guys and this place!!!!
