Well Im new to these forums and new to CH as this is only my second "cycle" My first was 4 years ago and lasted about two months or less . this cycle started the last week of june and I thought it was done last week  Sad But no it came back and bad this week so far .
My family doctor gave me some imitrex pills in june and I went thru those in a few days so then he gave me 6 shots and I went thru those in a day ,then he tells me thats a big no no and it could kill me .
Well anyways my question is  , is it normal to have a few days with no real clusters ? all I had for 3 days was this weird half a HA ,no full nose or droopy eye thing .Then all the sudden Im back up to 4-5 CH a day and real bad ones again . I started out with a few 3-4 kip and about what I thought was mid way thru had a few 8-9 and a real 10 that lasted 2 1/2 hours . Now today I have had 3 that are around a 7 and right now Im getting that half a HA feeling . The imitrex only works about half the time too . Anything more than a 7 kip and it doesnt even touch it . Im going to the Diamond HA center in chicago Aug. 25th Maybe they can hook me up with something better than the imitrex because now I have to decide what HA gets the imtrex and what ones I walk off .
thanks Ron

Yes, its normal....the beast makes the rules...no one else!!!

Try to stock up on meds even when you are pain free....ask your doc for free samples every time you see him.

Also, ask your doc for 02, it helps kill the beast in its tracks for many of us.

Good luck brother!!!

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Hard to say what is normal - the beast is a shape-shifter that can mutate at unpredictable times.

One thing to consider - there is a lot of debate on whether triptans like imitrex actually increase the length of cycles. No body knows for sure, it may only affect some people, but it is something that many people here believe in, and some doctors are starting to.
