Verapamil & Taurine??

Iv'e read on here somewhere that you should not take Taurine while taking Verapamil, it might have been when talking to Helen.

Now, i'm currently taking Verapamil & also taking Redbull to abort, which if I catch the headaches early enough seems to be working.

So my question is, as its apparently the Taurine in Redbull that helps the headaches, is Redbull ok to take while taking Verapamil?

If it is, is this because it might only be a small amount of Taurine in the Redbull??

Thanks for any help on this.

There is 1 gram of taurine in redbull - 1000 mg.  Taurine has some of the same effects as Verapamil (Ca channel blocker). Caution is in order.

Here is something:

From "The Online Cluster Headache Book" -

http://www.med-owl.com/clusterheadaches/tiki-index.php?page=Taurine

CAUTIONS

Taurine should not be taken if you are currently on a prescription for Verapamil or any other calcium channel blocker. Until more is learned, it is wise to assume that Taurine may increase the action of Verapamil, which could slow the heart excessively, causing irregular heart beats and possibly a heart attack. It is also not clear if Taurine would interact with other medicines like Sodium Valproate or Lithium.
