Has anyone used Cardizem (Cartia-generic) to help with less amount of migraines? This is a med for heart patients, it is supposed to lower your blood pressure and is supposed to be a calcium blocker. After more than 6 years of migraines(all kinds), 5 neurologists who only prescribe antiepileptic drugs, herbs, accupuncture, accupressure, meditation, etc... I had 18 migraines in May 2006!!! the worst of all times. I take Imitrex 100mg. and it helps but sometimes I get the migraines for 5 days then they stop for two etc.. I started the cartia in JUne and had 8 migraines. Now in July I have only had 3, and I am very excited for not having it but also concerned for taking any med. I also seem to have much energy. I also take clonazepan (for anxiety) who said I was anxious, I am just a worrier! After a pulmonary embolism 2 years ago I ended up with anxiety. Anyway I am able to sleep well for the past month after I have started the new med. Anyone tried it? Please comment. Thanks

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.
