OK since the geniuses at Glaxo don't manufacture an auto injector with 2 mg Imitrex, my doc has ordered me to self-inject manually.  I have the vials and the syringes, but it is creeping me out.  I got along fine with the autoinjector pen-thingie. Any suggestions?  should I practice on someting? Do I stick the needle straight in or sideways? Help! Shocked

Make sure they gave you subcutaneous needles.  They are very short and very thin needles.  Point the needle straight down in an area where you have adequate fat.  The needle should go down about  1/4 inch into your fat.

Dont worry, its way easier than the auto.  Be sure to get the smallest guage, shortest insulin needle you can find.
I pick a spot about halfway inbetween my bellybutton and my side, pinch some fat firmy (no prob for me) and put the shot in there.  Like E2 said, just sub q is all you are looking for.

Others do it in their leg, I tried that once but my leg hurt the next day.
Thinking about it is harder than doing it!!!!

Think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half the population is stupider than that.
