Tinfoil Hat

So, I'm a little weird. Last night while not being able to sleep.. well, skipping the entire thought process.. let's just say I eventually ended up convinced that there are alien mind-control experiments going on. Yes, I've finally reached that level of my nerdness.
My cycle has been weird, thought my CH was over for the year, but I'm getting light ones lately. I had one this morning, nothing major but enough to make me take a cold shower. After pondering the alien mind-control a little more, yes, I will openly admit.. I made a tinfoil hat. sigh. Point being, after putting it on, my mild CH vanished! Coincidence? I think so too. But who knows, I will put it on again next hit and see what happens.

If it works twice in a row you will get rich selling those hats on this site. Being the cold hearted pessimistic cynical old fart that I am, I also suspect it was just coincidence. Still better then pulling your teeth, beating your head with a hammer or spraying cayenne pepper up your nose! (all of which have been tried by various members of the board!!!)

Seriously, I hope you have a decent doc who is working with you, Oxygen? Imitrex?

It's possible that almost anything will work, but it may not work for someone else.

Thanks for the alien probe pic.  I guess the rest of the pain comes from the little scout units it sends out.

I, for one, would like to see Spidey in his tinfoil hat.

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs
Wearing the tangerine suits
And their harlequin eyes.
The pain they inspire
Draws in harmonica melodies
And the feathers of birds
Which flame up at their touch.
It all comes to light in the sheer
Debonair.

Alrighty then.... hummmm.... tin foil hats......let's see-where did I put that foil? Seems to me it won't work once the alien probe is already in place-though it may interfere with their ability to communicate withthe Mothership from the plant PAIN.
Love the hat Don Grin

If you get hit mostly at night, consider turning your bedroom into a faraday cage ... a grounded tin foil room, in essence.  Much cooler and more comfortable to sleep in.

That picture has to be what's happening.  No one else has come up with a better explanation.  But why do they want to hurt us?

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Rocklobster, "the second"  ...YES they have.  Roll Eyes

What Causes Cluster Headaches?

The true biochemical cause of cluster headaches is unknown. However, the headaches occur when a nerve pathway in the base of the brain (the trigeminal-autonomic reflex pathway) is activated. The trigeminal nerve is the main nerve of the face responsible for sensations (such as heat or pain.)

When activated, the trigeminal nerve causes the eye pain associated with cluster headaches. The trigeminal nerve also stimulates another group of nerves that causes the eye tearing and redness, nasal congestion and discharge associated with cluster attacks.

The activation of the trigeminal nerve appears to come from a deeper part of the brain called the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is home to our "internal biologic clock" which regulates our sleep and wake cycles on a 24-hour schedule. Recent imaging studies have shown activation or stimulation of the hypothalamus during a cluster attack.

Cluster headaches usually are not caused by an underlying brain condition such as a tumor or aneurysm.
